GREEN

The summer of the horrible lake trip was the same summer Harry Potter and the Half Blood Prince came out. I had just finished reading the part about the cave of horrors that Harry and Dumbledore barely survive - the cold, hard hands reaching out of the green water.

I wasn’t too keen on hopping off the dock after I did it the first time and felt a sense of panic when I burst through the surface and couldn’t see my legs.

That’s not the only visceral memory I have from this trip.
