YELLOW DAYS
what is a yellow day?
A yellow day is a happy day.
It’s a day I’m grateful to have lived, a day I’m grateful to be born.
It’s a day worth noting - and trust me, I do.
It’s a day where my heart feels light.
A yellow day is not a day without its sadness - it is not a “perfect” day, if that even exists within complex trauma and chronic illness.
But it is a day that I wouldn’t change.
A day when the hope is bigger than the grief.
It’s when I feel most integrated, most safe, most relaxed. It’s when I fall asleep proud that I got the most out of the day as I could’ve.
By “the most out of the day,” I mean the most peace, the most joy, the most rest.
Whether I spend an entire day with my loved ones, feeling good the whole time, or I listened to my body and cancelled plans for an early bedtime,
I got the most I could.
A yellow day is a state of knowing that deep joy can be mind, that I’m getting closer to who I want to be.
What does a yellow day look like for you?
